PEORIA, Ill. – DePaul women’s volleyball defeated Bradley 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) against Bradley, the second opponent of the day, to close Saturday night’s CEFCU Invitational.
DePaul (2-1) showed determination and balance on each of the three squares as the home Braves threatened late in each set, but the visitors overcame each time.
Similar to DePaul’s sweep of Central Michigan on Saturday morning, the Blue Demons took contributions from everyone on the roster with a weekend-best .287 hit percentage.

Rachel Krasowski, the honorary award winner of all tournaments, reached double-digit digs in the 13th game in a row with 11pm.
Set One: Both sides exchanged points in the early stages of the first set before the Braves’ three-to-back kills swept DePaul 11-8. The kills from Karl and Brown brought the Blue Devils together at 11-10. DePaul regained the lead at 13-13 after wins over Brown and Pressly. Emma Price and Kindelberger. After trailing 15-14 in the media timeout, Nelson landed a kill hit by consecutive Pressly serve aces to give the Blue Demons an 18-16 advantage. The kills from Karl and Nelson pushed DePaul to the 21-18 advantage. A pair of Price kills and Pressly’s fourth kill of the night gave the Blue Demons 25-22 the set.
Second Setting: The Blue Devils were down three points for the majority of the second set, and a 5-0 run gave DePaul a 15-14 lead. Kindelberger had a heavy hand in the five-point series with a kill and a double block to go along with Pressly’s third-serving ace of the match. The Braves threatened 18 each before winning the set 25-20 before DePaul went on to win seven of the last nine points.
Third Set: DePaul took an early 11-5 lead on the last frame and never looked back. The Braves narrowed the lead to three at 12-9 and widened the lead to 16-10 before DePaul earned four of the next five points, including two kills from Brown. Bradley put together six points in a row to narrow the lead to one at 19-18. After the break, Pressly and Kindelberger notched up to stop the Braves’ run and go up three points. Nelson and Price met Bradley once again at 22-21 before DePaul recorded kills to score game points. A Braves handling error clinched the match for the Blue Demons.

Next: The Blue Demons will hit the road once again on September 3-4 for the Tru By Hilton Dayton Beavercreek Invitational on the Wright State campus. DePaul will face Marshall on Friday afternoon, before meeting with Ball State and Wright State on Saturday.
